Despite several spoiler attempts by rival newspapers and media houses. The London Weekly kept to it's deadline by launching successfully today (05.02.10). The brand new  light hearted free sheet will be distributed weekly each and every Friday and Saturday.

Sports Writer & Co-Founder of Global Publishing Group and the London Weekly, Tony Woodcock commented tonight on ITN about the launch. He said "We have launched a newspaper for young Londoners despite a tough economic climate. We have a long term strategy to expand throughout the UK and are focused and poised to reach our strategy in the next five years". On the mixed reception of the paper, Woodcock added "Anyone who expects perfection for a brand new launch is practically living in a dreamworld. We are very content with the thousands of support we have had from readers who have picked up a copy this morning and this is our main focus to cater for the audience who want to grow with us as we keep improving issue after issue".

The London Weekly, will be distributed weekly Fridays and Saturdays outside most central underground stations from 7am.

You guys did well to keep the mystery going... It seems like the other newspapers, Guardian, Observer, and all the others where determined to bring down your paper before you launched. They never succeeded... ha ha,ha... I picked up a copy, it will do with much more general content... but i am an absolute fan of a light hearted paper.. Life is heavy enough as it is with much more heavy hard hitting news on my way to work..

Good luck with the London Weekly. Picked a copy from Holborn today on my way to work . Made a nice change. Also, just watched this ITN news report on the launch. It's amazing what you guys are doing and it certainly not an easy task when the giants of the media are trying to bully you out. You have all our support, i am a keen reader already.. I like the layout and design.... What was Nick Ferrari on about?? His show is the worst on radio! I rather watch paint dry than listen to his show. I bet you he is paid to write for other newspaper so his biased based jusgement of the paper is a reflection of how out of touch he is with today's facebook generation..
